Wet on Wet Oil Technique
This is a “wet into wet” oil painting technique. Several
contemporary artists paint this way, i.e. Bob Ross,
Gary Jenkins and Alexander. The subject is called A BASIC FLOWER done in
avariety of colors.
Listed below are the supplies needed.
Surface: Your choice
– canvas, wood, porcelain, etc.
If painting on a wooden surface, prep the piece with black or black green
ACRYLIC.
Porcelain or canvas do not require any preparation.
Brushes: Mop - liner - Bob Ross floral - good chisel edge brush
Oil paints: sap green - white - mauve - floral pink - alizarin crimson - Cad yellow light - ultramarine blue - turquoise
I have done this technique on many different surfaces
including furniture and wall murals.
I will bring a few samples to the January meeting for your observation.
