I’m still recouping from my back surgery and hope to be at the July meeting. Silly me…I thought I’d be up and running 2 days after surgery (what was I thinking!). Thanks to a high countertop in my kitchen, I’m able to stand and paint a little at a time- but I can’t wait until I’m allowed to sit longer then a ½ hour!

We just received our SDP 2007 Chapter Achievement Award Certificate in the mail along with our 2007 Achievement patch. Good job members! I’ll bring the certificate and our banner with the 2007 patch on it to July’s meeting. Please let me know if you went to the SDP Convention this year. SDP requires us to put how many members attended on our yearly form to them. Please also let me know of any paint related volunteering you’ve done (for instance-at church, girl scouts, seniors, etc.) or anything you’ve done to promote decorative painting this year.

Something new we’ve started is a monthly drawing every month headed by our Ways & Means Chair- Nadine Lawless. Every month you can view the prizes on stage and receive a ticket for a donation of $1. We’ll be on the honor system- just put your $1 in the basket on the stage and take a ticket. We will draw (usually 4-5 prizes) before we begin to paint every month except December. If you have any prizes you’d like to donate, please give them to Nadine.

Thank you Sharon McArdle and Rocky Puchalski for teaching such wonderful projects in May and June. It’s always fun to learn something new!
